'School of Rock' Musical all Geared up to Hit Broadway in 2015

A musical adaptation of the 2003 Jack Black comedy, the ‘School of Rock’ is one of the most awaited theatrical shows scheduled to be released at the Broadway theatres in the approaching year 2015. The official opening of the musical was done lately on the 6th of December 2014. The news has been published at both The Hollywood Reporter as well as the Rolling Stone Magazine. Just like the Richard Linklater's movie, the musical would be telling the tale of the Dewey Finn. The music of this theatrical play would be composed by Andrew Lloyd, a legendary name in the theatre industry who also composed music for Phantom of the Opera as well as Cats.

The songs would be incorporated from the original movie and the musical would be directed Laurence Connor. The person behind the revival of world’s renowned musical Les Misérables is also Laurence Connor. The lyrics of this much awaited show will be written by Glenn Slater who’s one of the Tony Award nominees. The team would also be taking help from Rob Cavallo who’s also known as the super producer. The great Lloyd Webber said that it is going to be joy for him, returning to his Jesus Christ Superstar roots.

In addition to the stage adaptation of ‘School of Rock’ musical, its television adaptation is also in progress. The eminent television channel Nickelodeon has ordered thirteen episodes of ‘School of Rock’ that are expected to start in spring of 2015. The musical is based on a 2003 American comedy film which was written by Mike White and directed by Richard Linklater. The main theme of this film about a guitarist as well as rock singer Dewey Finn who has been thrown out of his band and he struggles to get himself a respectable position in the industry.s
